Born in the Wild: Baby Mammals and their parents by Lita Judge
A great big 4 Thumbs up for: Born in the Wild by Lita Judge is one of the best nonfiction picture books I’ve read. The illustrations are simply beautiful and full of detail. You really can see into the heart of Lita Judge and her passion for animals. Her details in the way the baby animals interact with their parents is perfect. While the reading is light it gives children just the right amount of factual information to appreciate the care, love, protection and nurturing the mammal species share. Judge draws children closer to their environmental world through the facts and similarities the children see in the care animals and humans share. The end of the book also offers more detailed information on the animals mentioned in the story for readers who want to know more.
